When Louise moves back into town and in with her best friend, all aspects of her life start to fall into place until something unexpected happens ... she meets Alex, a rich playboy and known womanizer.

Alex wonders whether he has met Louise previously as she piques his interest in ways no other woman has before…

Will Louise fall for his fake personality, or will she have time to fall for the real one?

One of the reasons that I debated starting this website was because I wasn't sure what I would write about. I was too scared to post excerpts of my current WIP since it's still a rough draft and I didn't want to give anything away. As you can see though, I decided to build the website anyways!

Well, I soon ran into that problem that I knew I would - I don't know what to write about. After reading multiple blogs, and hundreds of blog posts ideas, I finally found something interesting. I stumbled across the tag "101 Blog Post Ideas for Writers" on the No Page Left Blank blog.

Once I read a few of them, I realized that they all linked to Julie Jernigan's blog, Julie Writes. There, I saw her post, "101 Blog Post Ideas for Writers - Part 1." I hadn't heard of Julie or her work before, but I have to admit, she had a pretty great list of ideas! So, I decided to participate in the blog tag too!

2. What is your favorite book and why?
If you've done a little exploring already on my website, then you know I've got a couple of favorite books. Honestly, I hate being asked this question and that's exactly why!

But if I have to decide, I'd have to put it this way:

  • Childhood: The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein
  • Middle School: Indigo Blue by Cathy Cassidy
  • High School: Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
  • College: The Bones Season by Samantha Shannon
  • Currently: Yes Please by Amy Poehler

Ultimately though, I think Tuesdays with Morrie will forever be my favorite book. It's the only book that I've ever been assigned to read that I actually liked and it's stuck with me ever since!

There's just something about the story and the way that I connected to it! I've honestly never felt this way about another book before. And there were so many wonderful quotes in the book too!

Crazy enough, I didn't actually have my own copy of the book until this year! When it came time to read it in High School, I borrowed it from my best friend Jenna. And I loved it so much that I held on to it until she found it when we were packing up my old room at my parents house. Eventually, I realized how long it's been since I've read it and I immediately went out and bought myself a copy!

Now that I'm thinking about it, I might just have to reread it soon!

What's your favorite book? Tell me in the comments!

1. What is your favorite quote and why?

Even though I have a handful of favorite quotes, Matthew 6:34 will always be my favorite!

If you guys read my other blog, Perfectly Ambitious, then you know that I'm a child of God. Not only that, but I also struggle with anxiety. And boy, do I not handle that well! I am constantly worrying even though I know that I shouldn't be.

So, when I came across this verse, it hit close to home. So much so, that I've seriously considered getting it tattooed on my wrist. Which, if you know me, is a pretty big deal - because I HATE needles!

That's just how much it means to me though!

Matthew 6:34 reads:

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

This verse is a reminder. I'm able to look back at it when I'm overwhelmed with anxiety and it helps soothe me. I know that I'm able to cast my anxieties onto God and that gives me a little bit of peace. Of course, it doesn't rid me of my fears and worries, but it does help.

What's your favorite quote? Tell me in the comments!

A few month's ago, I got an email asking if I'd like to apply for a position on Tim Tebow's book launch team. Beyond excited, I immediately began filling out the application. I was so determined that I actually postponed a meal, just to finish the application. And if you know me, that is not something I would normally do. I mean, I LOVE food!

Anyways! After patiently waiting for an email, I finally got the notification! I took a deep breath, opened the email, and read:

"Congrats! You've been approved to be a part of Tim Tebow's book launch team!"

Honestly, I couldn't believe it! I've only recently begun blogging again and I definitely didn't think I qualified, but I'm so glad that I did! Not only that, but I also knew that this experience would help me later in life. You know, when it's time to launch my own book :)

Well, after what seems like forever, I have finally received the book and I can't wait to read it! That doesn't mean that you have to miss out on all of the early reading though! In fact, I'm about to share a sneak peak with you!

Since I've started a new website, I decided why not start a new blog series too! So, to share my progress with you guys and keep myself accountable, I will be tracking all of my writing & reading stats!

Monday
To be honest, I haven't gotten much reading or writing done lately. I've been distracted with life and a four month old puppy. Luckily, I was able to get a little bit of reading and writing in today!

Tuesday:
While I didn't get any reading or writing in, I did do something productive. Can you guess what it is?! I built a new website! Well, I'm not quite finished, but I'm hoping to put the finishing touches on it tomorrow!

Wednesday
Guess who finished her site today?! I did! After I did that, I wrote two quick blog posts and then published the site for the world to see! And after seeing those two zeros yesterday, I felt a little guilty, so I forced myself to read. Hopefully I'm able to get some writing in tomorrow!

Thursday
I've got to be honest, I did not do much of anything today. I spent a good portion dealing with a migraine and trying to drown it out with a binge session of Jane the Virgin. However, I did use the time my husband was picking up dinner to get some light reading in! Then after he went to bed, I got a lot more done.

Friday
Today has been incredibly busy. I wrote two Perfectly Ambitious blog posts, spoke with multiple clients and potential clients, and I updated 126 published blog posts. After doing all of that, I decided it was time to take a break. I turned on Jane the Virgin and ate mint chocolate chip ice cream right out of the container and even though I wanted to watch the next episode, I decided it was finally time to get some real stuff done in regards to my writing career. So, I finished my book, wrote the review, and started working on my second novel again!

Saturday
My plan for today was to get up, get ready, finish the little bit of work that I had left, and then head somewhere to write. However, that's not what happened. I ended up having way more work to do than before, and while I'm glad that I'm finally making some money, I hate that I'm not moving forward with my debut novel. So tonight, I'm focusing on getting everything I can done so that I can dedicate tomorrow to writing.

Sunday
Well, it seems that as soon as I make a plan the universe decides it needs to be changed. I went to bed last night with the intention of waking up and heading to Panera for a writing session, but when I woke up I felt like I'd been hit by a truck. So then I told myself I'd eat and see how I felt afterwards;  but that was a joke, because I couldn't even make the walk to the living room. I think I had to stop about four times before finally I just flung myself on to the couch. Needless to say, that's where I've been all day.

Weekly Wrap-up
Even though this week didn't go as planned, I'm really happy with what I've accomplished. As someone with multiple chronic illnesses, I've learned that I have to celebrate every little accomplishment no matter how small it is. So I'm pretty happy with the fact that I finished a book and a novella and managed to write over a thousand words. Here's to hoping that next week goes better!

Page Count: 618

Books Read: 2
Debut Novel Progress: 68 pages in
Second Novel Progress: 35 pages in

Some of you might know me already from my blog, Perfectly Ambitious, but I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and my new website!

My name is Ivy and I'm a blogger, an artist, a writer, and a graphic designer! I love all things creative, but my main passion is writing.

I started a blog in January of 2016 and it took off in a way that I could never have imagined that it would! I originally created it to grow an audience for my future books, but it ended up following a different direction. So, I decided to dedicate an entire website to my writing :)

This website will be the place for you to find all of my book related topics and news. I'll be sharing excerpts, deleted scenes, cover reveals, book reviews, and so much more!

Not only that, but once I get published, you'll also be able to order signed copies of my books directly from me! So make sure to keep an eye out for that!

But that's not all! After my books are released, I'll also be working with other awesome authors to bring you the best blog tours, interviews, and giveaways!

I can't wait to start this new journey with all of you!
